“How old is too old to stop producing new scions?” an article published at wmagazine.com on December 8 asks. For Mick Jagger, there doesn’t seem to be an answer. The 73 years old The Rolling Stones member welcomed his eighth child with girlfriend Melanie Hamrick.
The article argues that Jagger will have plenty of experience to draw from when raising his baby with Hamrick, as his seven prior children now range in age from 45 to 17. Some of his children are now parents, and grandparents, themselves.
As I read the article I thought about the business people who established new ventures at a later age in their lives, after having already built many companies during the years they have been in business. What motivates them? Money, power, fighting age, spending free time… or is it just a habit?
It might be that the reasons behind the challenge of growth are different from person to person in business life.
But how about social life? Would you be interested to have a child younger than your grandchildren?
